William R. Prickett

     William R. Prickett, a 43 year area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home. He was 82 years of age.

    The son of the late Russell and Margaret Prickett, he was born on December 31, 1934 in Princeton, NJ.

    Will was a retired auto body repairman and was employed by Burns & Roe at the West Point Motor Pool. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. Will was an avid race car fan and worked with Jerry Higbie Sr. and Jerry Higbie Jr. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Robbinsville, NJ.

    Survivors include his wife, Almeyda “Mimi” Prickett at home; his 3 children, William R. Prickett II and his wife Amy of Lake Worth, FL, Mark E. Prickett of Spring Lake, NC and Betsy K. Luzon of Midlothian, VA; his 6 grandchildren, Russell, Elyssa, Jessica, Kyle, John J. and Skylar; 3 great grandchildren; his sister, Georgia Reed of Lambertville, NJ; several nieces & nephews.

   Family and friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Sunday, July 2nd from 3 - 6:30 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, July 3rd in the First Presbyterian Church of Denton, 22 Denton Hill Road, New Hampton, NY. Reverend Peter Johnson will officiate. Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Following the cremation, Will’s ashes will be interred in the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dutch Neck, NJ.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Will’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Denton, P.O. Box 72, New Hampton, NY 10958 or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
