Wilma "Annette" Sparks, 91, of Vienna, ME passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
She was born August 6, 1923 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of William and Anna Brasted.
She attended Middletown High then entered the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during World War II. After leaving the service, she married the love of her life, Charles Sparks, in 1948. They went on to live in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Oregon, and New York. Charles' career took the family all over the country where she worked in nursing wherever they were transferred. They ended their career by owning and operating an Alzheimers Care Home in Oregon before retiring to Florida. He passed away in 2002.
Her favorite thing in life was being with family and friends. A loving wife, Mom, Nana, sister and aunt, she was always there with her beautiful smile and helping hand. She will always be remembered with love for her quick wit and humor.
Annette is survived by her daughter, Nan Charlene Kelleher of Vienna; her son, Charles Ned Sparks and wife, Jeannette of Farmington; three grandchildren: Erin, Ana, CJ; three great grandchildren: Amanda, Chelsea, and Alicia; four great-great grandchildren; her sister, Claire Craig of Worcester, NY; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Helen Keener. She was predeceased by her two sisters: Hope Brasted and Jean McNally.
Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 7-9 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 8:30 PM.
Interment will be at 11 AM Saturday, June 20th in the Grahamsville Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY
In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be sent to St. Joseph's Childrens Hospital, Marshfield, WI or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
