William Scott Winship

     William Scott Winship, a resident of the area for most of his life, entered into rest on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 54 years of age.

     The son of Elaine Winship and the late William H. Winship, he was born on April 4, 1968 in Middletown, NY.

      Scott was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending the Eastern States Races at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown.

    Survivors include: his son, Alex Winship of North Carolina; his mother, Elaine Winship of Westtown; his sisters, Kim Elia and her husband Nick of Middletown and Sara Escobar and her husband  Brian of Westtown; his nieces Kaitlyn Elia and Sophia Escobar and nephew AJ Escobar; his former wife Kim D. of North Carolina. Scott was predeceased by his father William H. Winship and his companion Jody Rojas.

    Cremation took place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.

    A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM Wednesday, July 20th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
