William R. Mann

William R. Mann, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was 72 years of age.

    The son of the late William Bert & Elizabeth Mann, he was born on September 18, 1951 in Goshen, NY.

   Robert retired in 1998 from the New York State Department of Transportation where he had been employed as a construction equipment operator. He was a graduate of Goshen High School in the Class of 1969 where he played on the football team. He was an avid football fan and had season tickets for the NY Giants games. He also enjoyed antiquing and was a member of the CSEA.

    Robert was the very definition of love. Patient, kind, long suffering. His love for his wife, children and family was immense. He cared for his disabled son without hesitation. We were a team in the care of Jeremy, which could be very challenging at times, but we had each other. His daughters had a very special place in his heart. He shared his love of football with his twin sister Maggie, and passed it along to his children. He has left a huge void in our lives. We will always and forever love you!

    Survivors include: his loving wife, Heather L. Mann at home in Middletown; his children, Jeremy A. Mann, Tapply A. Mann & Nadia A. Mann all at home; a daughter, Carmen Mann of Middletown; his siblings, Raymond H. Hocutt of Montgomery, Mary Jane Crump-Boyce & husband Noel of Middletown, Beverly Mann of Middletown, & Henrietta Lee & husband Lester of Rochester, NY; his father & mother-in-law Keith & Ruth Moulton of Middletown; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Pamela Mann of Middletown, Whendy Nellums of Port Jervis, Vicki Ali & husband Mosum of Port Jervis, Jennifer Moulton of Burgaw, NC, Keith D. Moulton & wife Laura of Esopus, NY, Erin S. Moulton of Bloomingburg, & Angela McNulty & husband Chris of Orlando, FL; many nieces, nephews & cousins. Robert was predeceased by his parents, his brother Herbert Mann Sr., and twin sister Margaret “Maggie” Mann & sister-in-law Marilyn Hocutt.

  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM Wednesday, October 11th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the family would be appreciated.
