William H. Adams Jr.

    William H. Adams Jr., a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 78 years of age.

    The son of the late William Howard and Mildred Adams, he was born on October 27, 1938 in Montgomery, NY.

    Bill was an outside sales representative for LaMela Sanitation in Marlboro, NY. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. He was a member and Deacon of the Harmony Baptist Church in Middletown, and a graduate of the Hudson Valley New Life Bible Institute as a Lay Pastor. Bill was also a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in Port Jervis.

    Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Adams at home in Middletown; 2 sons, Kevin Adams of New Windsor and Jeremy Adams of Waynesville, MO; 3 step-sons, Jason Bailey and his wife Sharon of Milford, PA, Joshua Bailey and his wife Juliann of Geneva, NY and Jacob Bailey and Jessica of Unionville; 1 step-daughter, Jolene Struble and her husband Brian of Westtown; 16 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul Adams of Michigan and Charles Adams of the State of Florida; 2 sisters, Jay Galke and her husband Wayne of the State of Florida and Dottie Hall and her husband Jeffrey of Newburgh; and several nieces & nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Adams.

   Family and friends may call at the Harmony Baptist Church, 1790 Route 211 East, Middletown, NY on Tuesday, April 25th from 10 – 11 AM where services will begin at 11 AM with the Reverend John Hawco officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY with military honors.

   In lieu of flowers the family request is that you consider memorial contributions in Bill’s memory to the Food Pantry or Benevolence Fund of the Harmony Baptist Church.
