Wilfred D. Brain

 Wilfred (Bill) Donald Brain, of Westtown, NY, went home to heaven on December 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

   Wilfred was born in Paterson, NJ on April 9, 1943, to his parents, Annie Christine

Rogers Brain and William Brain, Jr. He grew up in Bardonia, NY. He graduated from

Clarkstown High School and from Rockland Community College with a degree in Police

Science.

   Wilfred married Joan Gertrude Coons, his wife of 62 years, in 1961. They lived in Rockland

County, and Westtown, NY during their years together. They have 2 children, Donald

Brain and Maureen Mastrantuono.

   Wilfred served as a police officer for 20 years for the Ramapo Police Department. Upon his

retirement from the police department, he enjoyed working as a car salesman for several

years. He also assisted in the family business, Brain’s Wholesale Eggs. After his retirement he

enjoyed going to his childrens’ and grandchildrens’ events. He loved being with his family. His

hobbies where hunting, NASCAR racing, and any sporting event.

   Wilfred was predeceased by both his parents and his sister Deborah Jean Brain Miller Stark.

He is survived by his wife Joan Gertrude Coons Brain, children Donald (Jill) Brain, Maureen

(Steve) Mastrantuono; grandchildren, Erin Brain, Greg (Laura) Brain, James Brain, John

(Peyton) Brain, Tyler Mastrantuono, and Jacob Mastrantuono, and 4 great grandchildren,

Logan, Tessa, Ethan, and Tatum. He is also survived by his sisters Ruthanne Shanks, Grace

(Doug) Coddington and Sharon (Robert) Eelman.

   A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday, December 28th at Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St. Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Friday at the funeral Home. Pastor Benjamin Horrevoets will officiate. Interment will be in the Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
