Shirley A. Clark

Shirley A. Clark, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center, Campbell Hall, NY. She was 93 years of age.

     The daughter of the late Kenneth LeRoy and Irma Crance Smith, she was born on March 26, 1929 in Middletown, NY.

     Shirley retired as a typist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Newburgh office and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for the former Middletown State Hospital. Shirley enjoyed doing needle point and was very talented at it.

    Survivors include: her children, Frank L. Clark Jr. of Pine Bush, NY, Virginia Reeder and her husband Paul of Stuart, FL and Denise Miller of Stuart, Fl; her grandchildren, Wyatt Clark and wife Dawn, Thomas Clark, Deanna Clark , Jessica Tonneson, Ryan Reeder, Christina Reeder, Sarah Routt, Matthew Reeder, Richard Miller and Lindsey Bangs; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara J. LaForge of Middletown, brother Richard Smith of Middletown and brother Stanley Smith of Rockstream, NY; and numerous nieces & nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brothers William & Robert Smith, brother-in-law Edward LaForge and sister-in –laws Cynthia Chandler Smith and Marie Smith.

    A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 – 11 AM Tuesday, December 13th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM with Reverend John Velez officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Pine Hill Cemetery, Town of Wawayanda, NY.
