Robert A. Ingersoll Jr., a 51 year area resident, entered into rest on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Middletown, NY. He was 83 years of age.
The son of the late Robert A. and Berte` Brunel Ingersoll, he was born on July 25, 1931 in Bedford, NY.
Robert had been employed as an Extension Agriculture Agent for the Orange County Agriculture Extension Service in Middletown, NY.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. He was a former member of the Goshen Lions Club and former member of the Masonic Lodge in Malone, NY.
Survivors include; his wife Arlene G. Ingersoll at home in Bloomingburg; his three children, Laura Helms and her husband Charles Jr. of Sarasota, FL, Lee E. Ingersoll and his wife Gretchen of Londonderry, NH, and Brett K. Ingersoll and his wife Dorota of Everett, MA; his five grandchildren, Kira Cooper and her husband Zachary, Nicholas Helms, Ashley Donnelly and her husband Josh, Korey Ingersoll and Devin Ingersoll; three great grandchildren, Isla Cooper, Chloe Donnelly and Harrison Donnelly; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his sister Jacqueline Strain and brother David Ingersoll.
Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, April 25th in the Community Church of Wurtsboro, 134 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro, NY. The Reverend Robert P. Meyer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
