Mary Ann Colligan, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her home in Bullville, NY. She was 76 years of age.
The daughter of the late Albin and Ruth Youngberg, she was born on March 13, 1939 in Middletown, NY.
Mary had been employed as an office manager for the Teamsters Union Local 445 in New Windsor, NY.
Mary was a longtime member of the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and choir member. She was a member of the Scotchtown Cemetery Association and formerly served as President, and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 445. Mary enjoyed the water, boating, water skiing, fishing and camping. Mohican Lake was very special to her. She enjoyed helping people and had a heart for service.
Survivors include: her sisters, Ruth Y. Swyka of Middletown and Mr. & Mrs Norman Sly of New Hampton; five nieces and nephews, Ruth Herbert of Hawley, PA, Catherine Swyka and her husband Steven Goldberg of Monroe, Mark Swyka and his wife Katherine of Westtown, Leon "Drew" Swyka and his wife Margaret of Bullville, John Sly and his wife Antonette of Thompson Ridge; great nieces and great nephews, Melissa Bair, Timothy Swyka, Geoffrey Swyka, Deborah Swyka, Landon Sly and Jackson Sly; sisters-in-law, Sister Faith Colligan, Donna Lubinskas, Kathleen O'Melia and Frances Colligan; the Colligan nieces and nephews, Brian and Chris Lubinskas, Michelle, Jackie and Kim O'Melia. Mary was predeceased by her husband Thomas Colligan and brother-in-law Ed Colligan and brother-in-law Leon Swyka.
Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Sunday, May 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, May 18th in the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church, 367 Blumel Road, Middletown, NY. The Reverend Robert Anderle will officiate. Interment will be in the Scotchtown Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church, 367 Blumel Road, Middletown, NY 10941 or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
