Lillian M. DeBoer, an area resident for most of her life, entered into rest on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home in Johnson, NY surrounded by her family. She was 86 years of age.
The daughter of the late William and Marjorie Fritzsch Sr., she was born on June 20, 1932 in Clifton, NJ.
Lillian was a homemaker and formerly was employed as a seamstress at Miss Swank in Middletown and later as a day care teacher at Peppermint Pattie’s in Slate Hill which later became The Children’s Station. She was a member of the Goshen Christian Reformed Church for over 60 years, and a member of the church choir. Lillian was a member of the Greenville Seniors and enjoyed gardening, baking and bird watching but most of all was very family oriented.
Survivors include: her children, Shirley Adams of Middletown, Frank DeBoer Jr. and his wife Joan of Franklin, NY, Cindy Schettkoe and her husband Richard of Westtown, and Jayne Nilsen of Middletown; her twelve grandchildren, Jason Bailey and wife Sharon, Joshua Bailey and wife Juliann , Jacob Bailey and wife Jessica, Jolene Struble and husband Brian, Michael DeBoer and wife Jessica, Thomas DeBoer and wife Dana, Derrick DeBoer and wife Nicole, Kelsey and Brittani Schettkoe, Matthew, Amy and Brad Nilsen; 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Frank DeBoer Sr., and her brothers Donald Fritzsch, George Fritzsch and William Fritzsch Jr. and son-in-law William H. Adams Jr.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 24th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Memorial Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 25th at the Goshen Christian Reformed Church, 2440 Route 17A, Goshen, NY. Reverend Sam Sutter will officiate. Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Interment of Lillian’s cremains will be in the family plot in the Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.
