Leonard E. Hulseapple, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 87 years of age.
The son of the late Clifton Andrew & Ida Genevieve Hulseapple, he was born on January 15, 1938 in Middletown, NY.
Lenny was a self-employed excavator for over forty years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, Sunday School teacher and Certified Lay Speaker. Lenny was also a Charter Member of the Washington Heights Fire Company.
Survivors include; his wife of 65 years, Deanna L. Hulseapple at home in Middletown; his sister, Dorothy Wille Bloomer of Edgewater, FL; two nephews, Jeffrey Birdsall of Newburgh and Richard Wille Garner of Iowa; four nieces, Deborah Hagar of Newburgh, Darlene Backer of Edgewater, FL, Nancy Gumbert of Hampton, VA and Lynn Patterson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three great nephews and eight great nieces. Lenny was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Birdsall.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 26th at Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 27th at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 60 West Main St., Middletown, NY. Reverend Dr. Hector Rivera will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 60 West Main St., Middletown, NY 10940.
