Leon D. Kinne
Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Leon D. Kinne, an 8-year resident of Port Jervis, and formerly a lifelong resident of Middletown, died Thursday, September 15, 2005 in the O.R.M.C., Horton Campus, Middletown, N.Y. He was 68. The son of William H. Kinne and Eleanor Storms, he was born November 17, 1936 in Sussex, N.J. Mr. Kinne was a retired maintenance man with the Orange County Department of Public Works in Goshen, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1959; was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge #1097; American Legion Post 151 of Middletown; the Greenville V.F.W.; the Moose Lodge of Wurtsboro; and C.S.E.A. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Williams Kinne at home; two sons, Robert J. Kinne of Davie, Fla., and Patrick L. Kinne and his fiancee, April Laspisa, of Walden; a stepson, Troy W. Longwell and his wife, Dana, of Fredericksburg, Va.; two stepdaughters, Trudy W. Bender and her husband, Craig, and Kathy E. Cutright and her husband, Rocky, both of French Creek, W.Va.; grandchildren: Robert Kinne and wife, Stephanie, Brandon Kinne, Justin Kinne, and Kara Kinne; great-grandson, Christian Kinne; sister, Virginia Kinne of Middletown; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Garretto and companion, George Cherry, of Middletown, and Carol Williams of Jane Lew, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kara Maggie Eloshway, and sister, Betty Homberg. Friends may call on Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell, Inc. Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, N.Y. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 in the funeral home with Deacon Richard Trapani officiating.
