LeRoy F. Walker

LeRoy F. “Roy” Walker, a 32 year resident of Florida and formerly of Otisville, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home in Palm Harbor, FL. He was 92 years of age.

      Son of the late Willard D. and Marion Osborne Walker, he was born on May 23, 1930 in Middletown, NY.

      Roy had been employed as a Supervisor for the N.Y. City Department of Health at the former Anti-Toxin Laboratory in Otisville, NY.

      Roy was a member of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, a member of Middletown Elks Lodge #1097 where he was a Past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy of the East Central District  New York State. Roy was a Mid-Hudson Valley Basketball Official for 32 years, member of the Orange County Soccer Officials Association & College Soccer Officials for 31 years, Orange County Baseball Official for 38 years, a 50 year member of the Otisville Fire Company serving as secretary for 16 years. He was a Past Captain for the Fire Police and member of the Orange County Volunteer Fireman’s Association as well as the Orange County Fire Police Association, and member of the Otisville – Mt. Hope Senior Citizens. Roy was also a member of the over 60’s and the over 70’s Softball League in Englewood, FL.

      Survivors include: his children, Elaine Walker of Bradenton, FL, Cindy Andrews ( Larry) of Safety Harbor, Fl, Gary Walker (Mary) of Hewitt, NJ and Mickey Walker (Kim) of Suffern, NY; 9 grandchildren, Heather, Kristen, Lindsay, Brandon, Ryan, Josh, Kelly, Tracy & Noah; 5 great grandchildren and 1 niece. Roy was predeceased by his wife Teresa J. Walker, daughter Karen Kaelin and brother, John Robert Walker.

      A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 29th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY where Middletown Elks Lodge will conduct services at 6 PM. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Jeffrey Farley officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Otisville, NY.
