Lawrence P. Ward

Lawrence P. Ward, a 12 year area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his home in Middletown, NY. He was 88 years of age.

      Son of the late Bernard and Emily Ward, he was born on January 8, 1935 in Queens, NY.

      Lawrence was a retired police officer with the NYPD. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. Lawrence was also a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown.  

      Survivors include: his son, Thomas P. Ward of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter, Barbara Ann Ward of Queens, NY; and 4 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia E. Ward.

      A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 AM Thursday, June 29th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY. Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown immediately following the Mass.

   Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
