Kevin P. Demarest

Kevin P. Demarest, a 38 year area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 66 years of age.

   The son of the late William F. & Eileen Demarest, he was born on April 15, 1959 in Queens, NY.

   Kevin retired as a Sergeant with the New York City Police Department. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in So. Centerville, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Fraternal Order of Police, Marine Corps League, Sergeant’s Benevolent Association and Sons of the American Legion.

    Kevin was a phenomenal husband, father and Pa. He was always willing to roll up his sleeves and help out anyone who was in need. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the community at large.

   Survivors include; his wife, Maire Ullrich at home in Slate Hill; his children, Dr. Caitlin Demarest, PhD of Nashville, TN, Brianna Demarest of Albany, NY, Liam Demarest of Denver, CO, Dermott Demarest of Laramie, WY, and Onoria Demarest of Slate Hill, NY; his grandchildren, Tristyn Malesick, Julian Malesick and Johnathon Kevin Brojakowski; his siblings, Joseph Demarest and wife Joanne of Panama City Beach, FL, Maureen McMahon and husband Gerard of Lindenhurst, NY and Patricia Demarest Weaver and husband Dennis of Panama City, FL; many nieces & nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews.

   A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday, July 22nd at Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM Wednesday, July 23rd at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 626 County Route 22, Middletown, NY. Reverend Mark Zittle will be the celebrant. For those who will be attending services, please dress as Kevin would like- bright colors. He was not a fan of black or other dark colors. Please celebrate his life the way he did, with flourish.

   Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kevin’s name may be made to Boys Town or the American Cancer Society.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
