Julia Jewis, a lifelong area resident, passed away, Friday, December 29, 2006 at her home, surrounded by her loving family in Middletown. She was 66.
The daughter of James Phillips and Eileen Johnson Phillips, she was born July 9, 1940 in Middletown. She was the widow of James J. Jewis, Sr.
Julia was a retired bookkeeper for LaBagh Trucking in Middletown and a member of North Congregational Church in Middletown.
She is survived by two sons, James J. Jewis Jr. of Godeffroy and John J. Jewis and his wife, Lisa of Middletown; one daughter, Judy J. Andryshak of Middletown; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Monroe of Middletown.
She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Jewis Sr.; and her daughter, Roxanne Jewis.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2006 in the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home.
Interment will be be in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg. The Reverend Scott Ramsey will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
