Joseph G. Lawlor Jr., a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 90 years of age.
The son of the late Joseph G. Lawlor Sr. and Hazel Hulse Lawlor, he was born on August 6, 1931 in Middletown, NY.
Joseph was a former employee of GTE Phone Company in Middletown and most recently was a bus driver for the Goshen School District.
Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Middletown Elks Lodge #1097 and enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
Survivors include; his wife, Melba Lawlor at home in Middletown; two children, Sharon Caldwell and William Lawlor; his brother, John “Jack” Lawlor and his wife Thelma; Melba’s children, Priscilla Holden, Suzanne Schoen (Don), Peter (Fran), Matthew (Jeanne), Patrick (Lisa) Donley and their families; many loving nieces & nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his sister Kay Kearns.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday, October 2nd at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 60 West Main St., Middletown, NY. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM with Military Honors immediately following.
Interment will be held privately at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
