Jean M. Kiernan
Jean M. Kiernan, a former sales clerk with Macy's and also Abraham & Strauss in New York City, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at her home in Middletown, N.Y. She was 83.
Daughter of Joseph Puzon and Josephine Puzon, she was born November 7, 1921 in Chester, N.Y.
Though a resident of Middletown, she spent the greater part of her life in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a member of Holy Name Church in Otisville, N.Y.
She was the widow of James J. Kiernan, an Army Air Corps Captain and B-24 pilot in World War II. He predeceased her on January 24, 1993.
Jean and her husband, James, were active members of the P.O.W. group at Stewart Field and other service related groups.
She is survived by two sisters, Estelle Jones of Tuxedo, and Marion Sicina of Florida, N.Y.; close friend, Barbara Drake of Goshen; nephews, John Wilbur of Howells, N.Y., and Darryl Wilbur of Middletown; niece, Donna Weiner of Walden; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Anthony Puzon; and sisters, Helen Saffer and Anna Sicina.
There will be no public visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 26 in the Holy Name Church, Highland Ave., Otisville, N.Y. with the Rev. Peter Tran Van Phat officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery in Otisville, N.Y.
