Janet E. Sweet

Janet E. Sweet of Middletown, NY passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY on Monday August 21, 2017.  The daughter of the late Thomas J. and Edna Vandermark Doran she was born on August 29, 1933 in Middletown, NY.  She was 83 years old.

A statement from her family reads:  “She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to an adoring family.  Our family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital MICU for their kindness and support.  We thank you for making this last memory of her one of dignity and grace.”

Janet is survived by her son, Daniel J. Cosgrove and wife Serafina of Middletown; daughters, Cynthia A. Borrelli and husband Steven of North Babylon, NY, Susan E. Fredette and husband, Thomas of Centerville, Mass.; step-sons, Lloyd F. Sweet Jr. and wife Nancy of Centennial Co., B. Douglas Sweet of Middletown, NY; step-daughter, Karen Ellen Sweet of Denver, CO.; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd F. Sweet Sr.

Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St. Middletown, NY on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St. Middletown, NY.  Interment will in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY

Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s name to the Humane Society of Middletown, 142 Bloomingburg Road, Middletown, NY 10940.
