James E. Soules, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. He was 98 years of age.
The son of the late Melvin and Pearl Soules, he was born on September 17, 1926 in Wurtsboro, NY.
Jim had been employed as a route driver for Gilman’s Cleaners in Middletown. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Jim attended Faith Baptist Church in Montgomery, and loved hunting, fishing, golfing, doing puzzles and painting. He was also an avid reader.
Survivors include; his children, James David Soules of Middletown and Sue Ann Chindano of Bloomingburg; his grandchildren, Jessica Fischer (Keith), Amy Rudduck (AJ), James D. Soules Jr., Elizabeth Boe (Kevin), Walter Minto III (Lacy) and Joseph Chindano (Maggie); his great grandchildren, MaKenzie, Lyla, Julianna, Kara (Josh), Benjamin and Avery; his great great grandchild Lilah Mae; several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, daughter M. Jean Minto and great great grandson Cameron, one brother and two sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be held 10-11 AM Monday, April 21st at Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Pastor Jeff Vinci will officiate.
Interment will be in the family plot in Ridgebury Cemetery in the Town of Wawayanda.
