Hugh F. Budd, a lifelong Otisville, NY resident, entered into rest on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his home in Otisville, NY. He was 89 years of age.
The son of the late Charles and Josephine Budd, he was born on June 6, 1931 in Otisville, NY.
Hugh retired as the Senior Filter Plant Operator at the Otisville Training School.
Hugh graduated from the Otisville High School where he played basketball and baseball. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Hugh was a member of the Floyd Carter Post No. 1079 American Legion, a member of the Otisville Fire Department, a manager with the Otisville Little League, member of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Volunteer Ambulance Corps, volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, Life Member of Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097, member of the Otisville Grange No. 1020, and member of the CSEA. Hugh also served as Assessor in the Town of Mt. Hope for 25 years and served as Trustee in the Village of Otisville.
Hugh always enjoyed family gatherings, sports and had a great sense of humor and Irish temper. He will be missed very much.

Survivors include; his loving wife of 67 years, Hazel Budd at home in Otisville; his children, Tamara L. Burch of Otisville, Verna A. Brigman Baran and her husband George of Goshen, NY and Darrell F. Budd of Otisville; his 6 grandchildren, Sean, Kara, Ronald, Allison, Andrea & Brandon; his 9 great grandchildren, Tanner, Autumn, Michael, Ronald, Chloe, Ashlyn, Cayleigh, Beau & Rhett; sister Jean Roosa of Otisville, brother Robert Budd of the State of Florida, sister Joan Stratton and sister Marjorie Lertora both of King of Prussia, PA; and numerous nieces & nephews. Hugh was predeceased by his daughter, Jo-Ann Barile and siblings Charles Budd, Vera Budd, Louise Franck, Edna Sweeney, Norman Budd & Frances Mann.
Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
