Henry Kolk
Henry Kolk, a 74 year area resident and a retired self employed television repair technician in the Florida-Goshen area and former dairy farmer, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 in Orange County Residential Health Care Facility, Goshen, NY. He was 90.
The son of Sikke Kolk and Alice Drenth Kolk, he was born October 16, 1914 in Oude Pekela, Netherlands.
He was married to Dorothy Grefe Kolk; she predeceased him June 15, 2004.
Mr. Kolk was a member of Faith Reformed Church, South Centerville, NY; a member of the "Keenager Club" of the church; and a member of the National Radio Institute Alumni Association.
A family statement read: "Henry was a devoted family man who enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren. He loved working the land on his dairy farm and he proudly introduced the television services business in the Florida and Goshen area. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughter Nancy and her husband Jesse Hogencamp of Umatilla, FL; granddaughters: Debbie and her husband Mark Slesinski of Florida, NY and their children Heather and Christopher; Bonnie and her husband Edward DeGennaro of Bullville, NY and their children, Kyle and Nicholas; Cherie Wierzbicki-McMickle and her husband Richard McMickle of New Hampton, NY and their children, Jazzmine and Richie; step-grandchildren: Christina Catsichtis and her daughter, Alexa of Virginia and Jesse P. Hogencamp of Virginia; one brother, Simon Kolk of Pine Bush, NY; three sisters: Anna Reyns of Greenville, NY, Antoinette Budine of Walton, NY and Josephine Meikle of Middletown, also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy "Dot" Grefe Kolk, son-in-law, Leo Wierzbicki and brother, Cornelius Kolk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2005 in the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. The Rev. Michael Webber will officiate.
Interment will be in Scotchtown Cemetery, Scotchtown, NY.
Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Wednesday, March 23rd from 6 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Residential Health Care Facility Activities Fund, P.O. Box 59 Glenmere Cove Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
