Flora M. Cherry

     Flora M. Cherry, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. She was 86 years of age.

     The daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Weeden Fairweather, she was born on June 25, 1935 in Middletown, NY.

   Flora retired as a packer for the former Mack Brothers and Jet Chef of Goshen, NY. Flora attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Middletown and was a member of Union Local 174 in NYC, and a member of the Town of Wallkill Seniors.

     Our mom loved her family, always cherishing her time with us. She was always willing to go to the casino, play bingo or go on any other adventure. She was always there to help anyone in need.

     We would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Kaplan Family Hospice Residence for the care they provided during moms stay with them.

    Survivors include; her children, Robert (Rosa) Cherry, Edward Cherry and Cindy Miller; her grandchildren, Lisa Birtch, Tommy Cherry, Tara Miller & John Miller and his wife Krystal; her great grandchildren, Marky, Jeremy, Brianna Storms, Madison Cherry, Robert & Bella Miller; she was one of 12 children and surviving are, Marjorie Cherry, Emma Watch and Helen Meres; several nieces & nephews. Flora was predeceased by her siblings Ruth, Allen, Howard, Roy, Frank, Martha, Loretta & Vanetta, the father of her children Robert Cherry and her companion for over 20 years, Roy Heater Jr.

     A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 AM to 12 Noon Saturday, August 28th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.

    Graveside Services will be held following the visitation at the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, NY. Mr. Angel Santana will officiate.

       Memorial contributions in Flora’s name may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, 1 Sunrise Lane, Newburgh, NY 12550.

 Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
