Faye Markoff of New York, NY, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2022. She was 101 years young. Faye was born in 1921 to Luba and William Glass in Koblenz, Germany. She traveled via steamship to Ellis Island at just six months old. Faye grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with her younger brother Buddy, where she grew up loving music, dancing, and the picture shows. She was happily married to Irving from 1940 until his death in 1981. They started their family in Yonkers, NY before moving to Middletown in the mid-1950’s. Faye was an active member of Temple Sinai’s sisterhood, congregational choir, and bowling league. She worked in retail sales for most of her life at the town’s most fashionable women’s clothing stores. Faye was a wonderful cook and baker and loved hosting family gatherings for the holidays. In 1984, she reconnected with and married her first love, Joey G. They were together until his death in 2014. She is survived by her children Allan Markoff (Nancy) of Palm Beach, FL, and Sindi Kaplan (Josh) of New York, NY; Grandchildren Dori Sedransk, Shari Markoff, Matthew Markoff, Josh Markoff, David Markoff, Stacey LeMin, and Ian Kaplan; and Great-Grandchildren Owen Sedransk, Orly Sedransk, Irving Markoff, Ari DeGeorge, and Adele Markoff. Faye is predeceased by her brother Buddy Glass of Ellenville, NY, and her son Paul Markoff (Richa) of Newburgh NY. Her funeral will be held at Temple Sinai on Thursday, November 17th at 11:00 with burial immediately following at Temple Sinai Cemetery in Circleville, NY.
