Evert R. Osterdahl Jr. of Saratoga Springs NY, (formerly of Otisville, NY) passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at home.
He was born on October 13, 1949, in Middletown, NY. Son of the late Evert and Evelyn (Miller) Osterdahl.
Evert graduated from Otisville Union Free High School and earned his master’s degree in social work from Manhattan College NY. He worked for the New York State Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities for over 40 years.
Evert’s greatest enjoyment in life was fishing, especially with his brothers, Mark and Paul. They inherited this passion from their father, Evert Sr. Evert enjoyed dancing, and after retirement worked on cruise ships as a ballroom dancer. Most of all, Evert cherished time spent with his family. Evert was instrumental in the planning of a three-day Miller Family Reunion this summer attended by 134 family members. Evert also kept a strong attachment to his town of origin, Otisville NY. He served as Chief of The Otisville Volunteer Fire Department and has been a member of the Otisville High School Alumni Association for many years.
He is survived by sister Mary (David) Southern of Otego, NY, sister Julia (Carl) Vreeland of Otisville, NY, brother Anthony Osterdahl of Uppsala, Sweden, the late Mark (wife Bonnie survives) Osterdahl, the late Dr. Paul R. (wife Deborah survives) Osterdahl. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and very dear cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 14th at 11:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 45 Highland Ave., Otisville, NY with Rev. Michael L Palazzo officiating.
Evert will be dearly missed by so many. His family extends a heartfelt thanks to Evert’s dear friends in Saratoga Springs who have been so kind when most needed. To, Jamie & Jessica, Mike & Tammy, and his friends at McGregor Pub, thank you for your friendship.
