Evelyn Stevens Obituary

Evelyn “JoAnn” Stevens, a resident of the area for most of her life, entered into eternal rest after a long, valiant battle with Alzheimer’s with her family by her side at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. She was 78 years of age.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Edwards Biehl, she was born on July 28, 1942 in Tuxedo, NY.

JoAnn was the dedicated racing wife of Ed Stevens Sr. and was also the co-promoter of the Middletown Motorsports Show for many years. JoAnn had also served as a bus monitor for the Minisink Valley School District. She was a member of the former Mountain View United Methodist Church in Bloomingburg, and a member of the Orange County Antique Auto Club.

Survivors include her dedicated husband of 62 years, Ed Stevens Sr.; her son Ed Stevens Jr. and his wife Helene, and her “precious” granddaughter Heather; her brothers Fred & Joey Biehl plus many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

To all that knew her, she was a force of nature who impacted everyone’s lives in a very positive way. Her personal symbols were always angels, so it is only fitting that Heaven has gained another angel today. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
