Evelyn J. Soules

   Evelyn J. Soules, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. She was 86 years of age.

    The daughter of the late David and Mary Elman Stewart, she was born on February 25, 1931 in Middletown, NY.

   Evelyn retired from Sears in Middletown after serving for 35 years as bookkeeper. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her husband of 67 years James E. Soules, at home in Bullville; her children, James David Soules of Middletown, M. Jean Minto of Langhorne, PA and Sue A. Chindano and her husband Joe of Bloomingburg; 6 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Keith, Amy and husband A.J., James Jr. and companion Samantha, Walter Minto III and his wife Lacy, Elizabeth and companion Kevin, and Joseph; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Bushnell of New Smyrna, FL; numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her sister Joann Vernooy.

    Family and friends may call from 2-5 PM Sunday, Dec. 3rd at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, Dec. 4th at the funeral home. Reverend Jeff Vinci will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Ridgebury Cemetery, Slate Hill, NY.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
