Ethel A. Huggins, a 69-year area resident, died Sunday July 3, 2005 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown, N.Y. She was 77.

The daughter of Frank Jones and Ethel Blount Jones, she was born October 14, 1927 in New York, N.Y.

She was a retired medical assistant and x-ray technician, having worked a combined 28 years with Dr. Jacob Schloss, then Dr. Augusto Rosas in Middletown, N.Y. She attended the Bullville Methodist Church; was a graduate of Ellenville High School; and graduated from Paine Hall as medical assistant and x-ray technician.

She was a member of Medical Assistants Association; Town of Wallkill Senior Citizens; and was always active in school activities while her children were growing up.

Her husband, Russell quotes, "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. Ethel was my sweetheart, loving wife and best friend."

She is survived by her husband, Russell Huggins, at home in Middletown; two daughters, Linda Keller and her husband, Daniel, of New Hampton, N.Y., and Dawn Turley and her husband, James, Sr., of Albany, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Tebble Cassel and her husband, Jeremy; Trisha Fedun and her husband, William Jr.; Michael Keller; James Turley Jr.; Patricia Acquaviva and her husband, Joseph; and Christopher Turley; her great-grandchildren: Jake, Jared, Bailey, Madison, Nathan, Renee, Angelina, and Victoria; two brothers, William Jones and his wife, Jean, of Pine Bush, and Robert Jones and his wife, Betsy, of Hickory Valley, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday July 6, 2005 in the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell, Inc. Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, N.Y., with the Rev. Robert Hewitt officiating. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh, N.Y.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to any cancer related charity or cancer research fund.
