Elizabeth “Betty” Fogarty passed away on December 27th, 2022 in Port St. Lucie,
Florida. She was age 92.
Betty was the daughter of the late Charles Davis Newcomb and Laura Belle Atkinson
Newcomb, and the widow of William A. Fogarty, who passed away on April 13th, 1980. Born on
May 30th, 1930 in New Rochelle, NY, she was the second youngest of seven children.
Betty was a corporate secretary for Haggerty Millwork in Mt. Kisco, NY for over 40
years. She was an avid member of the Town of Wallkill Republican Committee and long-time
Captain of her bowling team at 17- 84 Lanes.
Her survivors include her daughter, Trish Fogarty Miles, of Florida, her grandson, Tyler
William Miles, of Florida, her granddaughter, Kyra Leigh Miles, of Maryland, her sister, Irma
Sattarelle, of Middletown, NY, two special nieces that were like daughters to her: Susan
Thompson and Lisa Sattarelle, of Middletown, NY and two special grandnieces: Sarah
Thompson and Katie Thompson Hopper, of Middletown, NY, several other loved nieces,
nephews, and cousins, mostly from NY, CT, ME, RI and FL.
She was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Weckerly, and four brothers: Charles,
Robert, Donald, and Gerald Newcomb.
Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren. An animal lover at heart, she loved
her cats, dogs, special pet skunk, and the horses on her farm. She also loved cousins picnics,
golf, bowling, her family from Haggerty, dear friends, whiskey sours, sangria, and a good party!
She is and always will be loved and missed by all!
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, January 20th at Cornelius, Dodd, and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 21st at the Scotchtown Cemetery, 366 Blumel Road, Middletown, NY 10941.
