Elizabeth M. "Betty" Ketcham
Elizabeth M. "Betty" Ketcham, a homemaker and Registered Nurse, and lifelong resident of the area, died Friday August 12, 2005 in Middletown, N.Y. She was 85.
The daughter of Frank W. Myers and Sarah Patterson Myers, she was born May 25, 1920 in Newburgh, N.Y.
Betty was a member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a 4-H leader for over 20 years; was a charter member of the Otisville Country Garden Club; the Wednesday morning Bible Study group; and was a member of a great pinochle group. She loved life and its comforts - to live well, love much and laugh often; and most of all, a Christian with a faith in Jesus Christ, and she would like you to know Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Horace A. Ketcham Jr., at home in Otisville; two daughters, Cherie K. Rockow and her husband, Duane, of Hamlin, N.Y., and Candy (Elizabeth) Burnett and her husband, Ben, of Middletown; two sons, Horace A. "Lucky" Ketcham III and his wife, Barbara, of San Diego, Calif., and Frank S. Ketcham and his wife, Karen, of Otisville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers: Alfred Mitchell, Walter, Elwood and Benjamin Myers.
Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell, Inc. Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, N.Y. on Sunday August 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 15 in the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church in Otisville with the Rev. Jeffrey Farley officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 628, Otisville, NY 10963.
