Edwin Cable Jr. Obituary
Edwin F. Cable Jr., a 43 year area resident entered into rest on Wednesday, December 30th at his home after a valiant fight against cancer. He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Edwin F. Cable Sr. and Marion Finley Cable, he was born on August 6, 1945 in Paterson, NJ.
Ed retired from Trade Trans Corp. in Chester, NY where he worked as a warehouse and shipping manager.
Ed attended Spring Valley High School and excelled in football, wrestling and track. He also played for the Rockland Warriors semi-pro football team. Ed enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family, and getting fired up with this years’ election.
Survivors include; his loving wife of 55 years, Joann Cable at home; his daughters, Johanna Gildersleeve and Ann-Marie Cable Clark; his son, Edwin F. Cable III; his grandchildren, Ryan Duggan, Nicholas Gildersleeve, Zachary Gildersleeve and his wife Amber, & Meghan Clark; his sister, Janet Switzer and her husband Nick; his brother, Randy Cable and his wife Laura; his sister-in-law, Louisa Cable Monteleone; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Ed was predeceased by his brother Charles Cable.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-7 PM Monday, January 4th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 5th at the Wallkill Cemetery, 160 Midway Road, Middletown, NY. Deacon Richard Trapani will officiate.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing must be practiced. There may be a wait time to enter the funeral home due to a limited number of persons able to be in the facility at a time.
