David Joseph Taylor Sr., an area resident for over 30 years, entered into rest on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home in Middletown, NY. He was 68 years of age.

The son of the late Joseph and Geraldine Brown Taylor, he was born on January 17, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY.

David retired as a cook with the former Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown, NY. He was known for his calm and quiet demeanor. His favorite Bible verse was the 23rd Psalm.

Survivors include: his former wife, Rufina Smith of St. Croix; his 2 children, Nia P. Taylor and her significant other Donald of Springhill, FL and David J. Taylor Jr. and his wife Diane of Tampa, FL; 4 grandchildren, Pwania Taylor, Dnaja Taylor, Laina Taylor and Malachi Taylor; 1 great grandchild, Aiden Marshall; his step son, Arthur Miller and his companion Joyel; 2 step grandchildren, Shanelle Miller and Alayjha Miller; his step great grandchild Aadyn Miller; his siblings, Cora, Theresa, Frasica, Hilton, Alphonso Taylor Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents and sister Karen.

Cremation took place in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
