David E. Hart

David E. Hart passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 86 years of age.

   David proudly served in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring in December 1972 as an E-6 Petty Officer First Class. He went on to work for E.A. Morse & Co. for several years after which he worked for the US Postal Service.  Some of his favorite days were football Sundays,

cheering on his beloved Miami Dolphins.

   David is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth and his cousin Patricia King as well as two very dear people who were always there for him, Vincent Rocco and Sue Napolitano. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, his parents Michael & Grace, brother Neil, sisters Kathleen Hart Hall and Peggy (Margaret) Muller. While there were many cats over the years in our home, he absolutely cherished his Heather and upon her passing 8 years ago, made it known she was to be laid to rest with him.

    Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 29th at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY.

    In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. Very special thanks to Cassidy, Mary, Sue & Gina for their amazing care and the laughter they brought him. We will be forever grateful.
