David Allrich Hanington, a 40 year area resident, entered into rest on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Montgomery Nursing Home in Montgomery, NY. He was 79 years of age.
The son of the late Edward J. and Dorothea Allrich Hanington, he was born on April 4, 1945 in Rockville Center, NY.
David was a retired accountant. He attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bullville. David enjoyed nature, horse racing, loved the Brooklyn Dodgers prior to their move to Los Angeles at which time he became an avid Mets fan. He had been drafted as a pitcher by the St. Louis Cardinals in the early 60’s.
Survivors include; his children; Robert Hanington and his wife Eda of Middletown, Cheryl Hanington Scuadroni of Texas, and Matthew Hanington of Canaan, NY; 8 grandchildren; his two brothers, Richard Hanington and his wife Stephanie of Long Island and Edward Hanington and his wife Elaine of New Jersey; and several nieces & nephews; David was predeceased by his wife Dolly Ann Hanington on May 26, 1996.
Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
A visitation for family and friends will take place from 3-6 PM Friday, February 21st at Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
