Charles W. Smith Jr.

Charles W. Smith Jr., a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was 74 years of age.    

     The son of the late Charles W. and Dorothy Mae Smith Sr., he was born on February 26, 1950 in Cornwall, NY.

    Chuck was employed at Orange & Rockland Utilities as electric meter tester foreman and retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of the IBEW. Chuck coached in the Babe Ruth League for 28 years, and was an avid golfer and Mets fan. He especially enjoyed spending time at their home in Port St. Lucie, FL.

     Survivors include: his loving wife, Pamela Smith; his son Brian Smith and his wife Meredith and his daughter Lesley Pallone; his grandchildren Wyatt, Charlotte, Weston, Andrew, Joey, & Nicole; his sisters Mary Anne Cavalaro and Laura Elaine Eckert and her husband Wesley and his brother Steven E. Smith; and numerous nieces & nephews.

    Cremation took place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.

    A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday, July 28th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553 or to the charity of your choice.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
