Charles W. Herd, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Monday, January 13, 2025 at his home in the Town of Greenville, NY. He was 69 years of age.
The son of the late Esther Crance Wickham, he was born on July 31, 1955 in Middletown, NY.
Charles had been employed at the West Point Military Academy Armory for 30 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1989. Charles was a member of V.F.W. Post 3175 and the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include: his daughter, Susan L. Herd; his son, Jackson Fuentes; his grandchildren, Anthony Medina and his fiancé Shania Kelly, Tatiana Herd, Quamair Johnson & Nadiya Hubbard; his great grandchildren, Mylah Medina, Ajayla Johnson & Aasai Medina; his sisters, Carleen M. Friedrich & Michele E. Wickham; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Esther Wickham and her husband Carl Wickham, and brother Allan R. Wickham.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 PM Friday, January 17th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran’s organization.
