Catherine T. McDowell
Catherine T. McDowell, a 26-year area resident, died Friday, September 23, 2005 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus, Middletown. She was 52.
The daughter of Walter Kirby and Catherine Monjello, she was born February 25, 1953 in New York, N.Y.
She was the vice president in charge of business development and training at the Orange County Trust Company of Middletown. She formerly attended St. Paul's R.C. Church in Bullville. She was secretary for the Orange County Banker's Assoc. and member of the Center for Financial Training and the Orange County Golf Club.
A family statement reads, "In memory of a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Few words are fit to describe a woman whose warmth engulfed all in her presence. Courageous to the end, her unique spirit will live on through all whose lives she touched. Her compassionate and caring ways knew no barrier. A gift from God, she will be sorely missed by all."
Survivors include her husband Larry E. McDowell of Goshen; daughter Kristy Rappo of Hoboken, N.J.; two sons, Anthony P. Rappo of Middletown and Salvatore R. Rappo of Boston, Mass.; stepson Larry E. McDowell Jr. and wife Christine of Goshen; four sisters, Maryann Kuchta and husband Gus of Highland Mills, Susan Cedole and husband Anthony of Bayville, N.J., Karen Moran and husband Michael of Barnegat, N.J., Patricia Flynn and husband Michael of Edison, N.J.; brother Walter Kirby Jr. and wife Heidi of Highland Mills; grandchildren, Evan and Jessica McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, September 25 and Monday, September 26 at the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27 at St. Joseph's Church, Cottage St., Middletown.
Interment will be in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Memorial contributions in Catherine's name may be made to the Tucker Center for Cancer Care at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus, 60 Prospect Ave., Middletown, NY 10940.
