Carol J. McCormick, a lifelong Middletown resident and collections consultant with Frontier Communications in Middletown, died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. She was 58. The daughter of John B. McCormick and Mary J. Yorko McCormick, she was born May 3, 1947 in Middletown. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Middletown and IBEW Union Local 363. She was an Army Veteran of Vietnam serving as a medical corpsman and formerly a phlebotomist with Horton Medical Center in Middletown. Survivors include her mother, Mary J. McCormick of Middletown; brother John M. McCormick and wife Elaine of Middletown; best friend, MaryAnn Tomaszewski of Middletown; nieces, Andrea McCormick, Andrea Kirby and Julie Higby; nephews, Matthew McCormick and wife Tracey, Douglas Kirby and wife Heather; aunt, Nancy McCormick of Dayton, Ohio and her daughters, Karen McCormick and Joan Verlingo. She was predeceased by her father, John B. McCormick; aunt, Eleanor McCormick; and uncle, Kenneth McCormick. Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove Street, Middletown on Wednesday, April 12 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Joy Amick will officiate. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
