Betty J. Meade

    Betty J. Meade, a longtime resident of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.  

    The daughter of the late Frank and Marion Coddington, Betty was born on September 21, 1936 in Queens, NY.  

    She is survived by her beloved sister, Jeanne Schwager (Blake) of Wassaic, NY, sons Matthew (Elaine) of Wurtsboro, Michael (Donna) of Chesterfield, Missouri, Mitchell (Julie) of Middletown and Lincoln (Kim) of Montgomery.  Betty was proud to be Nana to 5 granddaughters Bailey, Shelby, Amanda, Alexis and Samantha and 3 grandsons Matthew, Shane and Walter.  She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Meade. 

    Betty served as an Administrative Assistant at RECAP in Middletown for 27 years before retiring.

Some of her favorite pastimes included watching football or the Red Sox and hosting Christmas Eve celebrations. She loved spending time in Cape Cod and EVERYTHING Frank Sinatra. Above all, Betty was passionate about her family, and loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren.

     Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Friday, October 6th from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.

     The family would like to thank the entire staff of the O.R.M.C. ICU for their compassion and care.
