Arline E, Soderblom

     Arline E. Soderblom, a 65 year area resident, formerly of Middletown, NY and Eldred, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at her home in Otisville, NY. She was 89 years of age.

    The daughter of the late Charles and Alice Ayres Huggler, she was born on November 28, 1932 in Scranton, PA.

    Arline had been employed as a receptionist at the former Middletown OBGYN on Benton Ave., Middletown. She was a member of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church.

    Arline was a very talented singer and at 18 was offered a scholarship to The Juilliard School of Music. She had been in love with Donnie since she was a young girl and chose to stay and marry him, they had three children, she was then widowed at the age of 24. She remarried to Dave from NY, a man who accepted and loved his new children and they went on to have two more.

Arline’s passion for her children and grandchildren was unmeasurable. They were showered with love and all are eternally grateful that God chose her to be their mother and grandmother.

Forever missed, forever loved.

    Survivors include: her children, Colleen Benedict and her husband Robert of Otisville, Kim Mita and her husband Paul of Middletown, Ronald Veety and his wife Maymarie of Amelia, OH, and Arthur Soderblom and his wife Lisa of Calabash, NC; her 11 grandchildren, Yvonne, Ryan, Laura, Ashley, Charli, Paige, David, Jennifer, Andrew, Matthew & Sarah; 7 great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law Lynn Veety of Siler City, NC; and numerous nieces & nephews. Arline was predeceased by her husbands, Donald Veety and David Soderblom, her son Mark Veety, and her siblings, Walter, Elmer, Dorothy, Fern & Evelyn.

    Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Interment of Arline’s cremains will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
