Anita F. Goldsmith, a 64 year area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 27th at The Carlucci Home in the Town of Greenville. NY. She was 92 years of age.
Daughter of the late Robert and Cleo Rich Tedford, she was born on November 21, 1932 in Crawford County, IL.
Anita retired from the Minisink Valley High School where she taught Physical Education and Health Classes. She was a member of the Otisville-Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and Deacon and also was a member of the choir. Anita was a member and former President of the Mt. Hope Historical Society and also served as the Town Historian for the Town of Mt. Hope. She was a member of the Land of the Lenapes Historical Society, a member of the Minisink Valley Teachers Association and former member and President of the Minisink Valley School Board of Education. Anita was a former member and Chair Person of the Town of Mt. Hope Planning Board and a member of the Otisville Grange.
Survivors include: her sons, John W. Goldsmith and his wife Andrea of Mt. Hope, and Jeffrey L. Goldsmith and his wife Erin of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Madeline, Juliana, William & Quincy. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Goldsmith and three sisters and two brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM Friday, December 6th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 7th in the Otisville – Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 25 Main St., Otisville, NY. Reverend Dorinda Violante will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery, Otisville.
