Susan Sitrin Rhodes

   Susan Sitrin Rhodes, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at St. Lukes-Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. She was 53 years of age.

    The daughter of Joyce Sitrin and the late Herbert E. Sitrin, she was born on February 10, 1965 in Liberty, NY.

    Susan was a graduate of Middletown High School in the Class of 1983. She suffered with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy for 20 years and was active on various social media groups regarding RSD.  Susan was also a member of the Al-Anon support group and a volunteer at the food pantry in Newburgh, NY.

    Survivors include her husband, Edward Morris Rhodes Jr. at home in New Windsor; her mother, Joyce Sitrin of Middletown; her sister, Ellen L. Sitrin of North Arlington, NJ; her sister-in-law Mary Ann Rhodes-Shupinski and her husband Robert Shupinski of Cornwall; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends. Susan was predeceased by her father Herbert E. Sitrin on Nov. 1, 1997.

    A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Friday, July 6, 2018 in Temple Sinai, 75 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY. Rabbi Marcus Rubenstein will officiate.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susan’s name may be made to the RSD Foundation, 99 Cherry St., Milford, CT 06470, or Temple Sinai, 75 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940 or to the charity of your choice.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
