Maude Fischer Abkarian

            Maude passed away, peacefully, on July 27, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center with family close.  She was 80 years of age.

        The daughter of the late John and Maude Tyrrell, she was born on September 29, 1937 in Trenton, NJ.   

       Although Maude had been living at Braemar Assisted Living lately, she spent most of her life living in New Hampton, NY as a child and raising her children there.

            She is predeceased by her parents, John and Maude Tyrrell; and also her brother John Tyrrell and sister Martha Tyrrell Gray.  Maude is survived by her sons Frank Fischer IV and his wife Selena and Randall Fischer and his wife Donna; and she is survived by her brother William Tyrrell and his wife Janice.  Maude was blessed with three grandchildren:  Gentry Fischer Boles(Brian), Cody Fischer(Alora) and Lauren Fischer Fitzgerald(Patrick) and three great grandchildren:  Grayson and Audrey Boles and Seylah Fischer.   Maude also is survived by Brother in law William Gray and Sister in law Marsha Tyrrell.

            Maude always tried to help people and was the beloved and trusted Senior High Sunday School Teacher for many years at Denton Presbyterian Church.  Maude also developed a regular following of local young ladies through 4-H activities.   She was a dancer at Kennett’s Dance Studio for years and did karate in her later years just for the heck of it.   She loved singing in the Denton Church Choir and starting a prayer ministry at the church which continues today.  She was one of the founding members and an elder of Open Door Fellowship and remains a member there today.  Her happiest memories were of her adventures with her sons and her grandchildren and she made special memories as “Aunt” as well.  Maude was well loved by many and she loved sincerely in return.   She will be remembered always.

            Maude’s final arrangements will be private and handled according to her wishes with the assistance of Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
