Mario J. Martinez

   Mario J. Martinez, a 30 year area resident, entered into rest on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home in Middletown. He was 71 years of age.

    The son of the late B. Octavio and Guillermina Martinez, he was born on October 19, 1946 in the Dominican Republic.

   Mario was employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Middletown and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown. Mario proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1977-1980.

    Survivors include his wife, Carmen M. Martinez at home in Middletown; his children, Tanya R. Maldonado and husband Joseph of Mooresville, NC, Mario J. Martinez II and his wife Kara of Huntersville, NC, and Michael J. Martinez of Middletown; his grandchildren, Marissa, Joey, Joshua, Abigail, Emily, Rebekah, Kaitlyn, Simon, Colby, Jacob, Levin and Becket; his siblings, Cesar-Octavio Martinez of the State of Florida, Octavio-Cesar Martinez, Jose Gabriel Martinez, and Trini Martinez de Noel all of the Dominican Republic; and several nieces & nephews.

    There will be no public visitation hours.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18th at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY. Entombment will follow in the Mother, Queen of Peace Mausoleum in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has requested prayers and Mass intentions.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
