Maria (DeVliegher) Reinhardt

     Maria DeVliegher Reinhardt of Winterton, New York went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 28, 2018.  Maria was born in Belgium and came to America at an early age where she graduated from Pine Bush High School.  Maria was predeceased by her mother, Angelique DeVliegher, her father, Gabriel DeVliegher and her brother, Edmund DeVliegher.  She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Reinhardt.  Maria and Don were married 63 years as of May 15, 2018.  She is also survived by their children; her daughter, DonnaMaria Bacchi of Middletown, NY and her children Jessica Bacchi, Melissa Lynn & her husband Anthony Ambrosino (their children, Anthony, Adelaide and Henry), and Charissa and her husband Joseph Bellone. Her son, Rich Reinhardt and his wife Michelle of Pine Bush, NY. Her son, Steven Reinhardt and his wife Kathy of Pine Bush, NY and their child, Matthew Reinhardt and his wife Lindsay. Her son, Jerry Reinhardt and his wife Anne of Middletown, NY and their children, Jeremy Reinhardt and his wife Cindi (their children, Madison and Lucas), Jordan Reinhardt and Jenna Reinhardt.  Maria is also survived by her stepbrother Louie DeVliegher, his wife Mary and stepsister, Yvonne Westerfield.

     Maria was a loving, caring and encouraging wife and mother.  She was a den mother for many years for cub scouts and taught the Blue Bird Trail for 4-H. She participated in the March for Life in Washington D.C. for several years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Assumption Church, and loved singing in the church choir, as well as, with the Middletown Chorale. She also attended Harmony Baptist Church. Maria loved her family, flowers, plants, birds and all animals. 

    She will be missed by all her family until we are reunited with her and our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will begin at 8 PM with the Reverend Joe Bellone officiating.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Maria’s memory to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4060.

     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, Middletown NY.
