Grace (Vander Schaaf) Wronowski

     It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Wronowski announce her passing on November 9, 2017. Grace passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. She was 95 years of age.

    A longtime resident of New Hampton, NY, she was born September 27, 1922 in the Netherlands to the late Wiebrand and Johanna Oomen VanderSchaaf, immigrating with her parents and siblings to the United States as a little girl. She was a member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church in Circleville, NY and a partner of Glacial Soils, LLC of Sussex, NJ.

    Grace is survived by one daughter, Sandy White of Bloomingburg, NY, sons Stanley Wronowski, Jr, of New Hampton, NY and William Wronowski of Middletown, NY, one granddaughter Missy Killian and her husband Pat of New River, AZ, one great grandson Justin Killian, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Garritt VanderSchaaf, Sr. and Nicholas VanderSchaaf, and former spouse, Stanley Wronowski.

     Grace loved socializing, spending time with friends and family, and of course taking

pictures to capture all those memorable moments over the years! Grace always had a great love for music, especially country music. She enjoyed dancing, singing, yodeling and even writing lyrics to her own songs, along with playing the guitar. In her earlier years, Grace, along with her older brother Garritt, formed their very own band along with a friend, named The Mountain Ramblers. They would perform at various venues in the local area and even made appearances on WALL radio. Grace’s great love and devotion for both her family and friends, her love and affection of animals, and just her all around thoughtful and caring ways will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of having her in their life.

    Cremation took place at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh, NY.

    Interment of Grace’s ashes will be held 11 AM Monday, July 16, 2018 in the family plot in the Circleville Cemetery, Circleville, NY. Pastor Brian Hill will officiate.

   Memorial contributions in Grace’s memory may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or to the Humane Society of Middletown, 142 Bloomingburg Road, Middletown, NY 10940.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
