Barbara A. Zazzero

   Barbara A. Zazzero, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. She was 81 years of age.

    The daughter of the late Smith and Frances Hill Barnes, she was born on September 29, 1936 in Goshen, NY.

   Barbara had been employed as a cook/manager for the Middletown School District and had worked in the Memorial and Mechanicstown Schools. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown and also the CSEA.

    Survivors include her loving daughter, Barbara J. Brunning and her husband Bernard of Middletown and grandson Joseph B. Brunning also of Middletown; her sister-in-laws Jennie Zazzero and Barbara Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Felix Zazzero, brothers, Willard Barnes and Earl Barnes and brother-in-law Gerald Zazzero and grandson John Phillip Brunning.

    Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, February 6th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 AM Wednesday, February 7th at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown.

   Memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the charity of your choice.
