Ann Wanser

    Ann Wanser, a 73 year area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Middletown Park in Middletown, NY. She was 95 years of age.

     The daughter of the late John and Mary Zatkovich Levchak, she was born on January 8, 1923 in Taylor, PA.

    Ann was a retired Registered Nurse and was employed at the former E.A. Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown. Ann was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Middletown. She was a member of the Audubon Society, the Urological Nurses Association, taught 4-H members how to cook and was a volunteer at the Guild of St. Margaret Soup Kitchen. She loved the family camp in Yulan and when she was 84 years of age went to Churchhill, Manitoba, Canada to see the Polar Bears while riding in a tundra buggy.

    Survivors include: her children, Marilyn A. Wanser of Flemington, NJ and Daniel G. Wanser and his wife Nancy of Middletown, NY; 2 step-grandchildren, Dr. Graham Foose and his wife Laura and their children Abigaile and Garrett of Camp Hill, PA and Julie Card and her husband Richard and their daughter Emma and son Richard of Circleville, NY; her brothers Charles Levchak of Starrucca, PA and Joseph Levchak and his wife Marie of Raleigh-Durham, NC and sister Joann Scofield of Stockton, CA; and brother-in-law Robert Carpenter  of Johnson City, NY, and numerous nieces & nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband Calvin J. Wanser, daughter Margaret Mary Wanser, brothers, George and John Levchak and sisters Mary Klym and Helen Carpenter.

    Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, December 5th at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Thursday, December 6th at the funeral home with Reverend Victor Sarrazin officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Scotchtown Cemetery in the Town of Wallkill.

    Memorial contributions in Ann’s name may be made to the Guild of St. Margaret Soup Kitchen or the Grace Episcopal Church both at 12 Depot St., Middletown, NY 10940.
