A. Jean Keeney

A. Jean Keeney, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Middletown Park in the Town of Wallkill, NY. She was 82 years of age.

     The daughter of the late John and Martha Bosch, she was born on August 25, 1935

in Pine Bush, NY.

     Jean was an English teacher and most recently taught at S.U.N.Y. Orange in Middletown and formerly taught in the Middletown and Pine Bush School Districts.

     She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Middletown where she had served as organist and choir director. Jean had served as organist and choir director in several area churches and did so for over 40 years.

    Survivors include: her daughter, Karen J. Keeney of Churchville, NY; her brother, Willis J. Bosch of Chestnut Ridge, NY; her sister, Joan Ketcham and her husband Gerald of Otisville, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald S. Keeney on September 20, 2002 and her brothers Samuel and Robert Bosch.

    Visitation for family and friends will take place from 10-11 AM Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 391 Mt. Hope Road, Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM immediately following visiting hours. Reverend Peter A. Rustico will officiate. Cremation will follow at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh, NY. Interment of Jean’s cremains will be held at a later date in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions in Jean’s memory be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 391 Mt. Hope Road, Middletown, NY 10940.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, Middletown, NY.
