Ronald A. Brink, retired, employee of Sears for 35 years and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at home.  His final days were spent surrounded by family and close friends.  He was 77 years old.

The son of the late Kenneth Brink (1989) and late Georgia (Runyon) Brink (2014).  Ron was born on January 30th, 1940 in Endicott, NY and grew up in Binghamton, NY.  He attended North Senior High School prior to enlisting in the U S M C.  Ron faithfully served his country from 1958 to 1962 “Semper Fi”.

Ron married his wife, Eileen (Schofield) Brink on November 15, 1974

A longtime member of the NRA, Ron was an avid fisherman, hunter, and marksman.  He enjoyed bowling with the Wednesday City League and in 1984-85 had “Hi Series” in C-Div.  Ron excelled at shooting pool and enjoyed the competition he encountered while in the Middletown league.  When he wasn’t hunting or fishing he kept busy reloading his own ammo.  A few years ago, he joined Black Rock Fish and Game Club in Cornwall, NY.  Another passion of Ron’s was gardening.  He truly had a “Green Thumb”.  Ron was very knowledgeable about Antiques and Art.  He spent many a night and weekend attending auctions and acquiring several exceptional pieces.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eileen (Schofield) Brink, at home; his sister, Joyce Carangelo and her husband Raymond of Binghamton, NY.  His daughter, Teri Brink, of Great Bend, PA and sons, David of state of Florida, and Kevin, of Binghamton, NY.  Ron was instrumental in raising Eileen’s children Lisa of Kingston, NY and Ralph, who lives with his wife Joan in Westtown, NY.

Grandchildren:  Jeffrey (US Navy) of Norfolk, VA, Maggie of state of CA, Angelica of Binghamton, NY, Kayleigh of Kingston, NY and Zachary (US Army) and Benjamin of Westtown, NY. Great Grandsons:  Julian and Jonah, Norfolk, VA

Special thanks to:  Dr. Alexander Fruchter, RN’s Jill, Jeanette, and Stephanie, Dr. Amin Shahrokni, MSKCC, and his staff for their care and compassion in caring for Ron.  Dr. Mitchell Kline, Ron’s “expert radiologist” and friend.  Mitchell was with Ron from the beginning and knew his anatomy better than anyone.  Mitchell, you were the one who reinforced what the doctors said and kept Ron’s spirits up.
